With over 8,000 tonnes of solid waste generated in Singapore every day, a proportion of this inevitably finds its way to public spaces and waterways.
Trash that is not cleared or cleared in time becomes an eyesore and may also attract pests that spread diseases. Marine litter also impacts our marine life and disrupts our water activities.
With more than 50,000 cleaners cleaning our public spaces such as housing estates, beaches and parks, roads, pavements, as well as several hundred million dollars spent each year on public cleaning, we can do better to keep our island clean together.
By taking steps to clean up different parts of our island, we start to build and maintain a gracious and clean Singapore we call our home.
